Current and Future Events

November

The role of the Special Advisor

11th November, 6pm, Conference Rm 21, Ty Hywel

Come and hear from Mark Drakeford (special advisor to Rhodri Morgan) and Jenny Randerson AM (who, as a former Minister, has had SpAds of her own!) about what they do and why it matters. This will be the first event organised by the new Executive and promises an intriguing insight into an aspect of Government we rarely get to hear about. RSVP to simonstranks@publicaffairscymru.org

User Group

13th November, 3-5pm, in Baltic House (on Mount Stuart Square)

The topic for the first User Group meeting is political party conferences, and we have someone from each political party attending for a half hour slot. It will be an opportunity for them to tell us about their plans for future conferences and us to tell them about our experiences of past ones, in the hope that we can try to improve the process for us all. If anyone is interested in attending, please could they email Alexandra McMillan at chair@publicaffairscymru.org.

December

Understanding Subordinate Legislation

Monday 7th December, at 5pm in the Media Briefing Room of the Senedd

A session to help members understand what subordinate legislation is, why it’s important and what opportunities there are to influence it. There’ll be the opportunity to hear from (and put questions to) the Chair of the Subordinate Legislation Committee (Janet Ryder AM), the Clerk of the committee (Steve George), and one of the Assembly’s lawyers.
