Public Affairs Manager-1800015D
ITV Cymru Wales – Public Affairs Manager
Based – Cardiff
ITV Cymru Wales has been at the heart of popular culture for sixty years and is home to many of the nation’s favourite television programmes: from our flagship news programme Wales at Six to Coronation Street and coverage of the 6 Nations Rugby Championship.
As Wales’ only commercially funded public service broadcaster, we pride ourselves on the 300 hours of news and current affairs programmes that we produce each year in Wales for viewers in Wales.
We now have a rare opportunity for a Public Affairs specialist to join the team in Cardiff. As our Public Affairs Manager it will be your responsibility to create positive perceptions and awareness of ITV within the political and public policy arena in Wales. Building and maintaining effective relationships and communication across a diverse range of stakeholders and communities of interest will be central to this role.
Working closely with the Public Affairs team in London and the News and Programmes team in Cardiff, you will use your public relations experience and bring your journalistic credentials to bear to deliver a dynamic, multi-platform marketing and publicity approach that capitalises on the programmes we make in Wales – and the talented teams that make them – to communicate ITV’s purpose to the widest possible range of stakeholders.
Experience of regulated environments; a comprehensive understanding of political environments and an up to date working knowledge of Welsh affairs will be an advantage.
To make a success of this role you will be personable, engaging and a first class communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach. You will also possess the presence and authority to successfully operate at a senior level and have a proven ability to produce authoritative and practical advice and defend it if necessary.
A full job description is available on request. If you think you have what it takes to make a success of this role then apply today.
Your CV and letter of application should reach us no later than Tuesday April 3 2018 and interviews will take place in Cardiff on Thursday April 19.
ITV is committed to increasing the diversity of its workforce and we strongly encourage applications from candidates from all backgrounds and as a Disability Confident employer we are committed to offer an interview to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the role.
